If you haven’t come across the U3A before, we are the University of the Third Age. We are not actually a University; we don’t hold exams or award degrees. We are a nationwide collection of local groups set up for and by people no longer in full-time work – in our “third age”. We run classes and activities led and taught by our members, for our members. We are a non-profit making, charitable, self-help organisation.
The Woking Area U3A has over 900 members, is one of 23 groups in Surrey and more than 650 groups nationwide. Our teachers lead groups on a voluntary basis, the annual U3A membership in Woking currently costs £15.00 and our classes are charged per term at 50p a session. Annual membership runs from 1st September but you can join the U3A, and then enrol in classes, at any time.
You can see a summary of our current classes and activities by clicking the Programme link above. If you are interested in joining or want to find out more, click the Joining link. |
