Membership

The U3A is open to all who are not in full time employment.  There is no minimum age – although most members “not in full time employment” are over 50! Woking Area U3A has more than 900 members and over 50 groups. The membership year commences 1 September and our programme generally runs from September to the following July.

If you are thinking of joining, it makes sense to apply early in the U3A year. Most members join or renew their membership in July - August prior to the Open Day on 9th August 2010, when they can apply to group leaders to join their classes and activities for the coming year. Some of our classes can only take limited numbers and may be oversubscribed. If you plan to become a member later in the year or because you particularly want to join a specific class, we recommend that you contact our membership secretary first and check availability. Contact details are given at the bottom of this page.

To join Woking Area U3A, please download and complete the application form and return it to the Membership Secretary with a cheque for £15.00 (for the 2010-11 year) payable to Woking Area U3A and a self addressed stamped envelope (preferably self seal). Payment for class meetings is 50p per meeting, payable in advance for each term, September~December, January~March and April~June to cover hall hire [except for weekly classes, those in private homes or walking groups].
